ORIENTATION EVENT
On September 24, 2022, the Pima -UAZ Stem bridge program hosted an orientation kick-off event to welcome its newest cohort of Pima Community College (PCC) students for the 2022-23 academic year. The event began with a warm welcome from Dr. Regina Deil Amen (Professor, Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona) and Emily Halvarson-Otts (Dean of Sciences at PCC). Following the welcome remarks, the rest of the leadership team and peer mentors introduced themselves so that the new students were able to meet everyone behind the program and also introduce themselves. The overview and background of the ASEMS and Pima -UAZ STEM Bridge Program were communicated to the students and their families. The agenda provided informational and networking opportunities through panels and peer and faculty mentoring breakout sessions.
SPRING SEMESTER HIKE
During the Spring 2022 semester, ASEMS organized a hike to continue building community within our cohort of students.
